Senior Center Month Proclamation September 2024

Graceland Center At City Council Meeting Tuesday, September 10th at 6 pm at 419 Fulton Street. 

Last year was the first time Graceland Center for Purposeful Aging asked Mayor Ali to proclaim September as Senior Center Month. We thanked the Mayor and City Council and challenged them to recognize the need for a senior center in Peoria and to support our efforts to enable older adults to age well in place! This year will be our second year to proclaim September as Senior Center Month as declared by the National Council on Aging. In the past year alone, Graceland Center has done over 50 community programs and dozens of presentations to various community agencies to educate about our mission! 

We invite our supporters to join us for the reading and acceptance of this proclamation prior to the City Council meeting. There is no registration needed and attendees do not have to stay for the official meeting. We will gather outside of the meeting room for a photo with our proclamation!
